RRI Partnership Library: Policies and Patron Information

Welcome to the Regional Research Institute (RRI) Partnership Library at Portland State University, a public library jointly sponsored by the Regional Research Institute (RRI), the Research and Training Center on Family Support and Children’s Mental Health (RTC), and the Child Welfare Partnership (CWP).

We are a small, specialized library located within the RRI, 1600 S.W. 4th Ave., Suite 900, Portland, Oregon.

 

PURPOSE
The purpose of the library is to provide a specialized resource of books, journals, and other documents in the areas children’s mental health, child and family advocacy, case management, service delivery, family-centered services, early intervention, multicultural social work practice, child welfare practice, policy and research.

USE OF THE LIBRARY
Books and other materials may be checked out by employees of the:
· Research and Training Center on Family Support & Children’s Mental Health (R&T)
· Regional Research Institute (RRI)
· Child Welfare Partnership (CWP)
· Graduate School of Social Work (GSSW), and
· By Ph.D. students of the GSSW

IMPORTANT! Application to become a library patron must be submitted before checking out materials. Applications to become a library patron are available at the RRI in the library area (Attached to the “RRI Partnership Library Policies & Patron Information” form), room 929A. Please return the application to the Regional Research Institute to the attention of the RRI Partnership Library (503.725.4175; rriLibrary@pdx.edu).

ONSITE REVIEW AND COPY PRIVILEGES
MSW students of the GSSW and student, faculty and staff of other PSU departments, and persons from the community may review and copy materials on site with the permission of library staff. Copy machine is located at the RRI main reception area (Room 120). Fees for copying of 5 cents per page shall be paid to the RRI receptionist (RRI receptionists can help you with the Copy Machine. Please have exact change when paying for your copies). Please return books on designated return shelf outside of RRI Partnership Library and do not shelve books yourself.

CIRCULATION POLICY
Patrons who wish to use material already checked out may obtain the name and phone number of the borrower from library staff. Patrons are expected to recognize the time constraints involved in grantwriting and to accommodate requests for materials in their possession. Out of courtesy to other researchers, please keep the books you have checked out in your office space on a clearly visible shelf. If another researcher needs a book you have checked out and it cannot be found easily on a shelf in your office space, we will contact you by Email or phone.

Persons who remove books, journals, newsletter binders, or other materials without checking it out will lose checkout privileges.
