Q1: How do I get help with my computer?

A1: In the case of a non-emergency, please submit a support ticket.

Q3: What software does my computer come with?

A: By default, all computers will have Windows, MS Office & an antivirus application installed. All other programs must be purchased by your project.

 

Q4: How do I order software?

There are three options available to you:

A1: Contact technical support and we will order it for you from the Help Desk.

A2: If you would like to purchase the software directly from the Help Desk click the following link:

A3: If the Help Desk does not carry the application that you need, you will have to either purchase it from the bookstore or directly from the vendor.

 

Q5: How do I get my project on the web?

A1: All projects are encouraged to have at least a single page up that is linked into the RRI web site. If your project requires help getting a page up, please contact: 
      Vicky Mazzone.

A2: If you would like your project to have a whole site there are a couple of things you will need to take into account.

  • All sites ending in .pdx.edu are free to projects. Any other name will require a modest yearly fee maintain. Please contact technical support for more details.

  • In order to have a site created for your project, you will need to either have an existing project member work on it or purchase part of someone's FTE.

 

 

Q6: How do I connect to the Wireless in the office?

A1: Find the wireless network icon in your taskbar

A2: Right click and choose "View Available Wireless Networks"

A3: Select rri.pdx.edu from the list and press the connect button in the lower right hand corner.

A4: A window will appear asking for a network key. You will need to contact RRI support for your network key. Once the key is entered, press connect. Wait for a few seconds and you should be connected.

 

Q7: How do I create a sponsered user account?

A1: Fill out the form available here and submit it to User Support Services (18 SMSU)
